Above you see the 2015 NBA All-Star Reserve selections for the All-Star Game on February 15th slated to air on TNT. Congatulations to them all. These players were selected by the coaches. While i wish nothing but the best to these players i can’t help but feel that a few players got snubbed. For example, the Portland TrailBlazers have the 2nd best record in the Western Conference. Yes Lamarcus Aldridge got chosen by the coaches but argument should be made that he should be starting over Blake Griffin. What about their PG Damian Lillard. He has played every game this season and was not chosen by the coaches? What about PG Mike Conley Jr? PF Zach Randolph? PG Monta Ellis? C Demarcus Cousins? These are others who in the West who should have gotten serious considerations. The thing about snubs is you have to take someone off.Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and the two glaring players who have not had better seasons than the ones i just named. Tim Duncan is another player even though he’s played well this season. With Kobe Bryant having surgery on his rotator cuff, someone like Jeff Harden or Klay Thompson will be elevated to starting lineup which leaves room for one more reserve to be picked.
The Eastern Conference selections were spot on for the post part.. Dwyane Wade while a Hall of Famer should not have been selected over someone like a Kyle Korver for the surprise team of the year the Atlanta Hawks. Milwaukee Bucks PG Brandon Knight is carrying that Bucks team thanks to the help of excellent coach by Former All-Star and NBA Champion Jason Kidd. Either way I will still be watching the All-star game like I always do.
